2267 BCE- A week after releasing the raven, Noah opened the window of the ark and dispatched the dove to see if the great Flood that covered the earth had abated. "But the dove found no resting place for the sole of its foot" and returned to the ark.  Noah waited seven days before making another attempt.  (Genesis 8:8-9)

 

1476-1436- The Ten Spies (who brought back a bad report of the Land of Israel) died.

 

66 CE- 2,000 Jews of Caesaria murdered by the local population at the instigation of the Romans.

1255- The discovery of the body of a Christian child led to a ritual blood libel and the hanging of many prominent Jews of England.

 

1906-  Pogrom in Shedlitz, Russia.

 

September 15, 1935-  The anti-Semitic Nuremberg racial laws, stripping Jews of their civil rights, were published by the Nazis.

 

September 1, 1939- Germany attacks Poland, initiating World War ll, which resulted in the murder of over 6 million Jews and the redistribution of the Jewish population all over the world, with many Jews eventually reaching the Land of Israel.

 

August 30, 1942- The elderly and the infirm of the Lodz Ghetto in Poland were murdered over the course of seven days.
