July 30, 1902- Anti-Jewish rioters attacked the funeral of Harav Yaakov Joseph, in New York City.  When the entourage passed the R. Hoe and Company factory, its non-Jewish workers threw refuse and rocks at the ark.  Local police arrived and a terrible fight, heavy with anti-Semitic overtones, ensued.  More than 300 Jews were hospitalized as a result.
